‘Tis the season for giving! At Aveda, giving to others is a major part of the Aveda Mission to care for the world we live in, and the holidays are the best time to donate to the causes you care about most.
As you may know, protecting and preserving clean water access around the world is our main crusade. We believe that access to clean water is a right for everyone, not a privilege, and since 2007, more than 1 million people have clean water. You’ve helped us raise $60 million for Earth Month since 1999, and the future is looking even brighter.
If you’d like to make a donation to one of our Earth Month partners during this holiday season, we’d first like to say that that’s amazing and we’re so thankful! Donations from supporters like you help our Earth Month partners keep doing what they do, from changing lives to protecting the environment. Here’s where to start — and remember, every cent counts, but if you can’t donate money, consider donating your time and volunteering!
Charity: water. We unveiled our new partnership with charity: water at our 40th anniversary celebration, and we’re so inspired by the incredible work they do and the millions of lives they’ve changed. According to Charity: water, they have raised over $300M, funding more than 29,000 water projects around the world to help 8.4 million people get access to clean water, hygiene and improved sanitation. Global Greengrants Fund. Since 2007, we’ve joined forces with Global Greengrants Fund to bring clean water to those who need it most, all over the world. One hundred percent of proceeds from Aveda’s Light the Way candle, which is sold exclusively during Earth Month, are directed to Global Greengrants Fund to help support their clean water projects throughout Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Pacific Island nations. For over 25 years, they have directed more than $71M in grants to grassroots organizations in 168 countries. Together, we’ve helped women in Uganda and even provided clean water access to elephants!
